KRACKING PERSONAL BEST MIRROR

Luke Siddle, 19 from Hull, decided to give Nirvana’s Kracking Carp Lake a try on the last night of his annual holiday to us. Well, within just 5 hours of fishing it was worth it and he landed a 31lb personal best Mirror.

Luke shared –
“After an extremely tough weeks fishing, I went into my final night on Kracking Karp on a bit of a downer, I just wasn’t expecting this! My rods were set at 5pm and in my head I knew what I was doing was right, it was up to the fish at this point. Come 10pm my right rod screamed off on a near enough locked up reel so I was on it in seconds, what a buzz that was! After an intense 5 minute battle in the pitch black I got it free of the lily pads and securely in my net, what a result!

I fished Peg 1 using a solid bag presentation consisting of a wide gape pattern hook on a 3″ hook link and a 3oz inline lead. In terms of bait I used a mixture of krill boilies, krill pellets, cloudy krill liquid and sweetcorn.

Perfect way to end another great week at Anglers Paradise! Thanks again, we will be returning for sure!”

David’s Story –

“On what was my 3rd ever night on Kracking Carp and I was lucky enough to have the Parrot grace my net! Being a regular to Anglers Paradise for 19 years now, and I’ve caught 14+ twenties to 29lb 8oz from the Specimen Carp Lake, but I had never managed a thirty plus from the complex till now…

I fished with boilie tipped with corn to the far margin and with the rods being out for over twelve hours, I thought my chance had gone, till Parrot woke me at first light…The best wake up call ever!! Many thanks, already looking forward to next year.”

Spawning Time for regions Carp

The next best thing to actually fishing is watching fish and with water temperatures climbing carp are spawning at many lakes across the region. This gives the unique opportunity to do a bit of fish watching and to get a good look at what the venue contains. Kris Vanstone sent me this video of Lower Tamar lakes carp in full courtship ritual. At times like this the carp seldom feed and are best left in peace.

Stafford Moor – In Top Form Latest Update

Its been a busy week at Stafford Moor whilst I have been away on holiday in Scotland!

Barry Taylor a scaffolder from Newton Abbot had 17 fish out up to 27lb from the inlet swim on Beatties lake fishing with mainline cell boilies but sadly Jo has no pictures of this fine haul.

(Above)Pete Chapman and Mandy Chapman  had five carp  from swim 4 on lodge lake fishing with Sticky baits Buchenberry pop ups and signature pop ups plus Pallatrax jungle.

(Above )Pete Honeybourne  banked eight carp  up to 21lb 1oz from the inlet swim on beatties lake all caught on Mainline Cell 15mm boilies.

(Above) Nik Slater  fished  on Lodge Lakes swim 3 and had 6 carp fishing with sticky baits krill boilies and spicy squid power smoke.

(Above) Woodrow Van Koutrik aged 14 who comes fishing with his dad Andrew who had 4 fish during  an evening session on Beatties lake on the summer hut swim on Beatties lake fishing with Sticky baits Manilla boilies,

(Above) Ash Graham & friend Ben who popped out to visit a relative fishing up on lodge lake and ended up stalking for only a few hours and had 7 fish out up to 20lb on 10mm yellow pop ups.
(Above) Mark Downing and his friend Dave Dymond banked 28 fish  from lodge lake during a weekend session ! Mark fished on swim 6 then moved to swim 2 , Dave fished on swim 4 they caught on Uberbait and Sticky baits Manilla boilies.

(Above) Tony Johns was with his friend Andy Byrne they had 3 fish out up to 18lb 1oz from the beach swim on Beatties Lake  caught on Mainline Cell & Sticky Baits Manilla pop ups.

(Above) Harry Collins aka ‘Haribo’ banked 2 fish  in 24 hours up on Lodge lake. Harry was on swim 3 then moved to swim 5 the fish pictured was 24lb 6oz and tempted  on Sticky Baits Manilla boilies.

(Above)  Some regular Stafford Moor anglers  who had a carp social here on Beatties lake with 11 guys fishing. The winner of their competition was Dean Willoughby who smashed it with 20 fish caught up to 28lb Deans total weigh of fish was 355lb from the inlet swim fishing with Cornwall baits special occasion.
They all had a great weekend despite rough weather that seemed to stimulate the carp!

Upper Tamar is in fine form for carp

Ashley Bunning has made the most of Upper Tamar fish switching on with a 13 fish session. Ashley managed a mirror at 21.03 along with commons to high doubles and a really silver common at 15lbs. All fish were caught over a bed of Nashbait scopex squid boilies with matching fluoros and wafter hook baits over the top.

(Below) Nigel Woods targeted Upper Tamar for a couple of hours stalking and was rewarded with this cracking 23.15 Mirror. This is one of the newly stocked fish from 2017 and its 2lbs up in weight and looking great! Nigel’s successful tactics were a Mainline cell wafter over a few freebies.

News From Paradise – The Big Fish Off ITV4

Big Fish Off
The latest series of the Big Fish Off is scheduled to air on ITV4 starting on the 29th March at 8pm. Not sure when the episode that was shot here is on, but there are sure to be some cracking episodes with a load of laughs, can’t wait. The show will be discussed on Soccer AM this Saturday,17th March and there will also be clips from the forthcoming series.

The Big One
If you’re planning on visiting The Big One Show between the 24th and 25th March in Farnborough, Hampshire, then make sure you pay the Anglers Paradise Team a visit! They will be on stand 28a along with Deception Angling. Zyg and Zenia will be there to greet you. Over the course of the weekend there is an opportunity to win a holiday for 8 people. For a lucky few, or probably the early birds, they’ll be a chance to take away a sample of the “Twist” which is one of the Paradise Baits range, produced exclusively by Burton Bait Rollers.
All the big angling names will be there, as well as their products and hopefully there will be some cracking deals to be had. “We hope to see you there for our 1st ever show, we are very excited!!”

Fish Moving Well
Lee Abbott one of our estate staff lost a big fish on Kraking Carp the other day. Fish are moving well now that the milder climes are here, were glad to see the back of the cold spell we had the other week, even we experienced snow even though it “never snows in Devon”
