Combe Martin SAC – Boat caught wrasse record
James Gubb Fradgley fished off Lynmouth in his own Private Boat and caught a stunning ballan wrasse of 5lb 15oz that sets a new boat record for CMSAC.
Boat Sport Off Ilfracombe
Anglers are enjoying some great sport off Ilfracombe from both Charter Boats and private boats. Bass, pollock and mackerel are being tempted on lures with bottom baits tempting tope and Huss.
Massive tope brace off North Devon Coast
Kevin Pike has set a new Appledore Shipbuilders Angling Club record boating a huge tope of 70lb whilst fishing off the North Devon Coast. Kevin was fishing from his own private boat with fellow club member Mike Toogood who also enjoyed success boating another huge tope of 68lb 8oz. The capture of two tope of this size in one session is an amazing feat that will be remembered for years to come as a red letter day proving the oft said saying that it’s all about being in the right place at the right time.
Calm Evenings offer sublime boat fishing experience
Ross Stanway has enjoyed a sublime evening off the North Devons spectacular coastline landing pollock and wrasse on his latest sortie.
The 3lb 3oz Ballan wrasse picture was tempted using a black minnow lure bounced along the bottom and sets a new boat caught Ballan wrasse record for CMSAC
Inshore Boat Sport – Off Ilfracombe
Combe Martin SAC members Daniel Welch and Ross Stanway have enjoyed some great inshore boat sport from their Private Boats fishing out of Ilfracombe boating Pollock and smoothound.
Tope on the boat
Stef Jones enjoyed his first trip of the summer out in his Private Boat to land several smoothound and a fine tope of 41lb.
Blondes for Combe Martin SAC members
Combe Martin SAC members Rob Scoines and Chris Bond joined a party of anglers aboard Charter Boat Lorna Doone out of Watchet and found blonde ray on the feed. Several ray were caught including a 15lb 10oz blonde for Rob and a 17lb 2oz blonde from Chris.

Afternoon everyone just a quick update,We are going to continue to run our trips (weather permitting) until we are told otherwise from the government. We will be putting a few things in place to try and make it as safe as we can for everyone aboard.
1. Drinks will still be available but please bring your own cups so you know it’s yours and yours only
2. All rods will be cleaned and made ready for the next trip the best we can

One Hundred Plus spurs in a day
Boat anglers are enjoying some great sport off Ilfracombe where a party boated upwards of double figure spurs to 18lb along with numerous Huss and eels to 30 lb.
