21 Anglers fished , conditions improved throughout the day and Colin has continued his great run on Tarka and this victory has pushed him into joint 2nd place in the league with 2 matches remaining. His catch of carp and skimmers was taken on peg 9 on the pole and paste. Opposite him on peg 18 was second placed Keith ,his catch was also taken on the pole but with soft pellets. Reg managed 3rd spot on peg 13 another pole catch this time on maggot. Craig on peg 16 also had carp and skimmers on the pole for 4th spot. Junior member Tyler on peg 6 came in 5th ,his catch included an 8lb 12oz carp.
Bideford Angling Club Monthly Rover
Re-scheduling the October Rover to avoid storm Alex proved a wise decision for Bideford Angling Club with members enjoying improved weather and some good fishing. Phil Vanstone lead the way with a superb ballad Wrasse of 5lb 5oz a superb fish for the North Devon Coast.
The flounder were also all North Devon fish which bodes well for the coming months of the flounder fishing season.

23 fished. A classic Indian summer day led to a close match on George’s lake , Kevin fished the pole with maggot on peg 13 , a late run of skimmers brought him victory, over Colin’s mainly carp net on peg 16 , third was another mixed pole net on peg 11 , Steve has caught mainly on the feeder on peg 17 for fourth spot. Richard’s bread on the pole method was fifth.

Kevin Shears led the team to a decisive victory with his pole caught net of carp on peg 2 ,on lake 1 , Matt was 2nd on lake 4 he would probably have topped 100lb but unfortunately lost his 3rd net through a ripped hole. John was the only Plymouth angler to make the top.8, his third place was on lake 4 nextdoor to Matt, A day of great weather added to a good match, and we hope that next year we can return to the 2-leg event. 22 fished. Conditions were very hot and still, Colin has won consecutive monthly matches this time on peg 26 fishing the pole for a good net of carp. Martin’s second place came off peg 12 fishing shallow with sloppy groundbait for a small fish net, Kevin’s found better bream and skimmers on the pole on for third off peg 8. Les continues his run with another pole caught bag from peg 11.

19 fished. The 8th and final midweek evening match was also fished as the pairs competition, winning pair Kevin and Thomas combined weight 27lb 11oz. Keith’s victory came from peg 9 and included some pellet waggler caught carp and bream on the margin pole, his final points tally was 60 a clear 2nd in the league, Martin’s 2nd place of small fish from peg 1 secured a league win with 73 points, The matches have been very well attended and close top weighs , many thanks to all those that have come along and helped with the safe running of these events.

20 fished , Hot sunny conditions proved to be just perfect for Colin’s winning tactics on peg 18, he has had half his catch on the pole using meat and several good carp on the pellet waggler. Second spot was a super net of mainly smaller carp and skimmers on soft pellets on the pole by consistent Keith on peg 6. Secretary , Steve was 3rd of peg 8 with some larger specimens on the pole.
