Just been sent this adorable picture of the beautiful Chloe Wyatt that just caught her 1st Ever Fish, she overcame her fear of Maggots, chose her own hook and reeled in this lovely Mirror from the Pixie Lake, she will be 3 at the end of this Month! She is on holiday with her Mummy, Daddy and Grandma.

Sam Whapshott, from Bexley, Kent caught a Personal Best 11lb Koi from the Koi Lake caught on Dog Biscuits, what a beautiful Fish! (Below)
Steve Macdonald from Woonton, Herefordshire had a BIG Surprise when he reeled in the Big Koi from the Specimen Tench and Orfe Lake at a whopping 15lbs!! Jackie Charlton caught him during the first week of July at 13lb 8oz so he’s put on a lot of weight in just a few weeks! Steve said – “Caught this cracking fella on the last day of our holiday with you. I had wanted to catch a double figure carp and a Koi so I was made up when my last cast of the day on the Specimen Tench and Orfe Lake resulted in this 16lb beauty, making it my new Personal Best!
The rig was a very simple 11mm bait-tech pellet banded onto a size 8 hook on a running ledger rig cast close to the lily pads. We had enjoyed a great day on the lake with loads of Golden Tench, Blue and Golden Orfe and an 11lb 14oz Grass Carp. It was a day well worth braving the wind and rain for!”. (Below)
Tommy Flower and his Wife Stevie from Bexley, Kent, had a rare fishing session together on the Specimen Tench and Orfe Lake. Tommy normally targets the Carp and Stevie is new to fishing, so this was a change from the Norm! Tommy and Stevie caught many Colourful Specimens including Golden Orfe, Blue Orfe, Koi Orfe, Golden Tench, Two Tone Tench and Grass Carp using Maggots as the hook bait. Here are just a few of the Specimens they caught! Watch Out Tommy, looking at the size of Stevie’s Catches, she’s one to watch! PB’S ALL ROUND FOR ONE LUCKY COUPLE!
Husband and Wife, Simon Harrison, 38 and Saskia Harrison 31, came all the way from Ross-On-Wye, Herefordshire, for their 1st ever time to Fish Nirvana’s Day Ticket Xanadu, in the hope of achieving their Personal Bests.
Simon wanted to catch his 1st ever 30 and Saskia wanted to catch an upper double to achieve her PB.
Well, they Both DID IT!! Simon caught the Stunning Xanna at 31lbs 12oz, then Saskia beat her PB Twice, first with a 16lb Common and then beat it again with a 19lb 8oz Mirror!! Simon also caught a 17lb 4oz Common during his session.
All fish were caught on Sticky Baits Manilla, Simon and Saskia were certainly one VERY Happy Couple and rightly so!

PRECIOUS MOMENTS. (Above) Here is Aiva Shelley with her Daddy on her first ever day of fishing on the Beginners Carp Lake. At just 4 Years Old she cast out and reeled Reeled in this 6lb Mirror and she loved it! Aiva used her Daddy’s Float Rod with Sweetcorn as the hook bait and this was her First Ever Carp!

Charlotte Cropp,( Above) 15 from Salisbury caught her 1st Ever Catfish from the Easy Access Lake after 15 years of coming here! The Girl Power Continues, it really is so great to see so many more Girls out there Fishing!
Charlotte’s Story – “This holiday, my goal was to catch my first ever Catfish. So on a drizzly Wednesday, we set up on Easy Access with the hope of achieving this. After waiting for about 4 hours, with no bites at all, my rod went screaming off and the drizzle decided to turn into a full on shower! After a fairly long battle and an aching wrist my first ever Catfish was landed. Not only that, but it weighed 21lb 4oz! After 15 years, I’ve never been so happy at catching a fish in my life!”

Tommy caught the Upper Double off the Top during a quick hour of stalking on Skretting Pellets. It’s Pictures like this that remind us the Magic of This Sport we call Fishing!
Keen alround angler John Shapland fished Anglers Paradise with his good friend Dan Spearman targetting catfish and carp from the day ticket catfish lake they enjoyed success using large boilies with John landing a carp and a personal best catfish of 19lb 5oz.
Anglers Paradise has the largest density of catfish in North Devon with fish to over 70lb. These fish give a very strong fight and will feed until cooler weather descends as autumn approaches.
Fishing Couple Sammy and Matt Davison had a really good week of Fishing at Anglers Paradise Landing some great Carp up to 23lbs. Matt had a 22lb 4oz Mirror, a 20lb Mirror and a 19lb 5oz Mirror all in just One Day on the Octopussy. His Wife Sammy then went onto catching a Personal Best 23lb Mirror and Matt also caught the rare ‘Golden’ Nearly Leather Mirror both from the Specimen Carp Lake. All Fish were caught using Paradise Baits ‘The Twist’ Wafters.

Tommy Flower decided to have a short hour’s fishing on the Main Carp Lake to do a bit of stalking and managed to land this Stunning 26lb Mirror! Not bad for an hour’s work!! Tommy Said – “An hour’s stalking was all that was needed as I targeted the fish in the Main Lake. A solid bag full of mixed skretting pellets tops with an Xcel baits Xcellerate wafter carfully placed in a small quite corner quickly resulted in a lovely old looking mirror of 26lb. Not a bad way to spend an hour!” Tommy then went onto the Octopussy and caught this Upper Double Mirror off the top with his 2 year old daughter Summer to bring him luck!
Tommy also caught a 30lb 8oz Mirror from the Kracking Carp Lake on a Banoffee Boilie and fed Xcel baits KSC in a small channel between an island and the margin.

Joel Dart, 15 was after his 1st Ever 20, so he went on a Guided session with Julian Chidgey and set up on the Main Carp Lake where he caught 2 New Personal Bests, a 22lb Mirror and a 21lb 13oz Leather using Plumb and Garlic Pop Ups from Burton Bait Rollers. Joel was one happy lad and also Won our Fish Of The Week Competition. You never forget your 1st 20!
Tom Steele caught a pristine 22lb Common from the Specimen Carp Lake using a Milky Toffee Boilie.
Charlie Grant aged 9, from Reading caught his FIRST EVER Catfish of 18lbs 4oz from the Easy Access Lake at Anglers Paradise on Luncheon Meat whilst fishing with his Dad Rich Grant and brother Joe. Zenia Gregorek says “It’s moments like these, that make us love what we do and when you see Families like the Grants enjoying the sport together and making memories like this, is just perfect.Charlie’s face is priceless and has certainly made us all Smile with him. The Passion that boy has for Fishing is just great and we were thrilled to present him as the Winner of Fish Of The Week!!”
Many lifetime anglers start their journey whilst on summer holidays with their families; all credit to such venues as Anglers Paradise for providing such an idyllic starting place.
Ryan Owen (Right) from Manchester came for his annual holiday at Anglers Paradise and on his last day decided to give Nirvana’s Day Ticket the Specimen Cat Lake a try in the hope of a BIG Cat! Literally, Ryan had packed up all his stuff ready to go, when at the last minute his last rod left in the water screamed off! After a 15 Minute Battle, Ryan landed a New personal Best 60lb 4oz Whopper of a Catfish using Krill Boilies on a size 8 barbless hook fishing in deep open water.

Louie Nightingill, aged 13 from Worthing, West Sussex caught an Amazing Personal Best 67lb 10oz Catfish from the Main Carp Lake at Anglers Paradise on Halibut Pellets. The fact that Louie is only 13 and managed to land this beast all by himself and not be pulled in is such an achievement, he even beat his Dad who caught a 52lb Cat during the same session, Louie NEVER expected to catch one bigger, but he did!! Not many 13 Year Olds have a PB Like this beside their name!!
Sue Seton-Smith, 53 from Southampton, and Friend Petula Little showed the men in their life how it’s done when they both caught Personal Bests! Sue caught a Personal Best 20lb 10oz Common from the Main Carp Lake using a homemade wafter rig with half cell bottom bait and trimmed half cell white pop up with a spread of boilies near to the lillies. Petula caught a personal 21lb 1oz Mirror from Xanadu on an Almond Goo Pop Up over Manilia Boilies. Both Ladies beat all the Men in their party and caught the Biggest Fish out of them all!!

Kieran Evans from Wales had a session with his Dad Mark on the Kracking Carp Lake before his annual week with us at the Main Anglers Paradise Complex in the hope of a New personal best Carp. Well, he did just that and caught a Personal Best 46lb 8oz Mirror on Fake Corn at 6.30am on the last day of his session! It certainly made his week!!

Matt Outen, 25 from Rutland had a 48 hour session to remember on the Main Carp Lake after catching 6 Carp and 4 of them being Stunning 20’s! Matt caught a 20lb 4oz Mirror, 2 X 20lb 12oz Mirrors and a 24lb 4oz Mirror on JH Baits White Pepper Pop Ups presented on Multi Rigs over a spread of the awesome JH Baits KLF and Black Pepper Boilies alongside a large bed of lily pads.

Carl Cliff Brown who caught the Complex’s 1st EVER 50 last year came back to the Kracking Carp to see if his luck would continue and managed to catch himself two Mirrors of 24lbs and 30lbs, and we have to say, we had to do a double take as they look so similar!! Carl caught the Kracking Mirrors using 40 Freebies with a White Pop Up over the top.

Peter Gauci, from Cardiff, headed to our Day Ticket Specimen Carp Lake Xanadu in search of a PB. He picked the right Lake and the right Bait and caught a Personal Best 27lb Common caught on The Twist 18mm Boilies fished on a 6inch Hair Rig with a PVA Bag full of Crushed Boilies.
Zyg Gregoreks famous fishing complex is well known as a holiday destination featuring on numerous angling shows over the years with many of the sports celebrity’s endorsing the venue. Many local anglers may overlook the many opportunities that exist for the day ticket angler. Whatever freshwater fish you chase there is a good chance that you can catch it at Angler’s Paradise as can be seen looking back through the news pages of North Devon Angling News.
