Combe Martin SAC member Dan Spearman set a new club record when he hooked this huge thornback of 15lb 2oz from a North Devon shore mark. Whilst North Devon has an excellent track record for blonde ray, small eyed ray and spotted ray thornback are scarce from shore marks. 
Kyle Bishop has smashed Combe Martin SAC’s spurdog Club record with a huge specimen spurdog scaling 18lb 1oz. The fish was caught at a popular North Devon shore mark.
Kyle also tempted a specimen small eyed ray on a subsequent trip to the North Devon coast weighing 10lb 4oz.
Keen lure fishing enthusiast Mark Jones has set himself the challenge of catching a bass on a lure in every month of the year. He started in November 2020 and has succeeded each month so far. With December, January and February ticked off it should be plain sailing from here on?
Combe Martin SAC member Kevin Legge tempted bull buss of 12lb 7oz and 10lb 5oz during recent trips to the North Devon coast. The specimen pictured was tempted a mackerel bait whipped to a single 5/0 Varivas Chinu and reports that the fish was hooked cleanly in the side of the mouth, allowing it to be removed swiftly and the fish released quickly after a picture.
Combe Martin SAC member Shane Hookway tempted this specimen bull Huss of 10lb 10oz from a North Devon rock mark. The fish took a whole Ammo joey mackerel.
Combe Martin SAC member Kyle Bishop has enjoyed success on recent trips that have seen him land several conger; the best this fine specimen of 22lb.
Combe Martin SAC member Jamie Steward caught this specimen smoothound of 11lb 3oz from a North Devon Rock mark. This is a promising sign with Spring just around the corner as smoothound were once considered a fish of the spring and summer. Recent seasons have seen them caught throughout the year.
Dan Spearman landed this fine 11lb 7oz Huss during a recent shore fishing session.
Jamie Steward enjoyed an awesome session targeting codling on the North Devon Coast. Jamie landed four tasty fish up to 5lb 5oz. The largest codling had obviously been attached by a large predator at some point either a large fish or a seal!
