Upper Tamar Lake has just had an additional stocking of carp including. 17 Carp from Lana Springs Fish Farm. 16 Mirrors & 1 Common with weights ranging from 19lb 10oz – 22lb 8oz.
Quay Sports fishing Tackle & bait Store have recently purchased North Devon Tackle.
An agreement was reached last week and the North Devon Tackle store will be closed as from Monday,November 1st.
All of the popular products and brands that were previously stocked in North Devon Tackle will be available very soon in the Quay Sports store.
A Quay Sports team member said, “We aim to offer the same great service and choice of products that North Devon Tackle have over the past 6 years and would like to wish Jamie all the best for the future.”
The move comes at a time when the High Street continues to contract with larger stores on the edge of town offering free parking and a wider range of products in larger premises. As angling’s popularity continues to grow it is great that a shop front style shop is available for Barnstaple’s anglers.

Darren Walter had a successful trip to Upper Tamar fishing the lookout swim he tempted 5 carp, the biggest being a common of 23lb 4oz. All fish caught on NX Baits Spicy Sausage.’

Pete Lilley with a new personal best mirror carp of 33lb 2oz from swim 6 (the outlet) up on Lodge Lake. Pete tempted the carp on Mainline cell and Sticky baits Manilla pop ups.
Torridge Carp Lakes have been fishing well with fish to over thirty pounds gracing the bank. Chris Bissett caught a stunning 32lb 14oz fully scald mirror carp. Stephen Thorne banked fish off 22lb 8oz, 20lb 6oz and 16lb 6oz. Taro Bell banked a 26lb 8oz mirror carp. Shaun Holland caught a 23lb mirror whilst his young daughter Harmonie banked a 20lb 3oz mirror.
