FLOUNDER DOMINATE – LOCAL CLUB RESULTS

BIDEFORD ANGLING CLUB

Terry Dymond took top spot in Bideford Angling Clubs monthly rover with a flounder of 1lb 123/4oz. Paul Downing was second with a flounder of 1lb 10oz and Taz Wotton was third with a plaice of 1lb 81/4oz. In fourth was Andrew Clements with a plaice of 1lb 7oz and Lisa Downing was fifth with a flounder of 1lb 61/4oz.

Appledore Shipbuilders monthly Rover attracted a field of 25 seniors and 4 juniors. Josh Atkinson won the competition with a fine flounder of 2lb 105/8oz. In second and third was James Atkinson with flounder of 2lb 75/8oz and 2lb 63/8oz. Junior winner was Nalani Knox with flounder weighing 2lb 4oz and 1lb 101/4oz.

Dennis Toleman secured victory in Triple Hook Clubs RBL Shield with a flounder of 1lb 65/8oz. In runner up spot was Mark Beer with a flounder of 1lb 45/8oz.

A Stunning bass!

Its not North Devon I know but James Wigglesworth of the Sea Angling News editorial team posted it and I asked if I could use it. Such a stunning image on a cold bleak November day; its enough to make you want to go fishing!!!!

FISH FROM THE SHORE

Ben Partridge went out after the tope and thought he was into one when the clutch screamed off, turned out to be a decent smooth hound weighing 9.2 picture taken and back she went! ( Below)

STAFFORD MOOR – Silver Manic Festival – Practice Day

Stafford Moor are hosting the Silver Manic Festival over the weekend the practice Match on Friday November 4th was fished on Tanners , Woodpecker and Pines lake 42  fishing. Well done to Andy Morrison who was the winner of the day with 28lb 8oz he fished on Woodpecker peg 28 Andy fished red maggot. In second place was Chris Simmons who fished Tanners peg 32 and bagged himself 21lb 1oz well done to everyone who fished today. .Day one of the Silvermanic festival starts tomorrow with the final on Sunday i will keep you all posted with results.

Day one of our Silvermanic Festival here at Stafford Moor. Was a freezing cold day. Had 3 guys from each section on each lake qualify today. These are Tanners: Rob Henrick, Mark Warren, Andy Griffiths, Tom Downing, David Smith, Boz Phillips. Woodpecker: Duncan Edwards, Adam Palmer, Chris Davis, Jim Lawrie, Bradley Gibbons, John Fridge. Oak: Peter Randle, Adrian Marshall, Steve Clark. Pines: Chris Bailey, Dave Carter, Paul Burckett.

Carp Catching continues at the Moor despite colder weather

Carp on are continuing to succumb to anglers baits at Stafford Moor despite a drop in temperature .

Kriss Kemyan who had a few fish up to 23lb 8oz (shown below ) which is his new personal best up on lodge lake using Mainline cell boilies.image1

PERCH MECCA – BOAT ACCESS – UPPER TAMAR

Ben Smeeth sent me this information on Upper Tamar; sure to be popular; I was tempted to keep quiet in case I cannot get on the boat myself!!!!

Perch fishing Mecca Upper Tamar has a rowing boat available for anglers to hire over the winter at £10 per day starting on Monday 7th November. There must be two people in the boat and it must be booked and paid for in advance on 01566 771930. Further details are available on booking. Anglers are required to buy a day permit when arriving at Tamar and the boat is only available for perch fishing. Venue regular Chris Lambert sent us in these pictures of some fish he had last winter from the boat at 3.06, 3.12 and 3.14!!

Late season bass catch

Jeremy Johnson sent me a report of a cracking day on his friend Robert Hurst’s rib on Sunday October 30th targeting bass on the lure.  Not sure of conditions so they decided at the last minute to change their minds from an early cod session up channel, to a bass session off Clovelly. Proved to be a good shout. As they landed 10 bass including a personal b on lure for Jeremy – (weight unconfirmed as the fish was released and had no scales but was certainly larger than an 8lb fish Jeremy had a couple of months back) They also had a perfect conditioned 6lb and 4lb bass and several round the 2-3lb mark.
